Due to the alarming rate at which Covid-19 has spread in recent weeks, GCES has decided to move UpStart online. Our top priority has always been the health and safety of our participants. We look forward to hosting all of you virtually from February 5-6, 2022.

An entrepreneurship competition is an opportunity where students get together and develop innovative solutions to tackle real-world problems.

UpStart will be held virtually on February 5-6, 2022! We hope to see you there!

UpStart is a 2-day competition, beginning at 9am on Saturday and ending 7pm on Sunday.

It’s free! UpStart is entirely free for all attendees.

Any engineering or computer science student at a University worldwide is eligible to participate.

Teams will be composed of 4 people. 

No worries! If you don’t have a team, we will pair you up with other participants that have similar interests!

No. In the interest of fairness, participants are not allowed to begin working on their project prior to the start of UpStart. However, feel free to familiarize yourself with all the tools and technologies you intend to use beforehand.
